The Orange County Beekeepers Association will be having our December social event on Thursday, December 8th, starting at 7:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Hillsborough. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring a heavy hors d’oeuvres. Water and wine will be provided by the club. If you prefer some other refreshment please bring it as well.
Orange County Beekeepers Assoc. will meet on Thursday, Oct. 13th at 7:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Hillsborough. The address is 1710 Old NC 10 in Hillsborough. The presentation will be by Dr. Gerald Strope on the topic of Medical Uses of Honey. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Orange County Beekeepers Association will be meeting Thursday, September 8th at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Hillsborough starting at 7:00 pm. This months speaker will be Master Beekeeper Randall Austin. The topic will be “Know Thy Enemy”. Come join us to learn about varroa and how to control them.
Our August meeting will be held on Thursday, August 11th at 7:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Hillsborough. Judy Pick will be giving a presentation about the Honeybee Exhibit at the NC Zoo. She has been working there as a volunteer for many years and was highly honored by the NCSBA last year for her service. I think it’s going to be a great meeting. Everyone is encouraged to attend. As usual, we will also be getting together at Vinny’s around 5. all are welcome there as well.
OCBA’s June Meeting will be held Thursday, June 9th at 7:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Hillsborough. Master Beekeeper Randall Austin will be presenting on a very interesting subject- The Hive as a Super Organism. I encourage everyone to attend, it’s very enlightening.
We also need volunteers to help man the beekeeping booth at the Eno River Festival in Durham next month. I’ve never been to the festival, but I’m really looking forward to it. Full details at the meeting.
