On Saturday, Jan 13, @ 1pm, Don Pelley will lead a nature walk around Blackwood Farm Park, focusing on identifying plants that provide nectar, pollen, and other resources to pollinators.
Don Pelly is a transplant from KY. He taught high school biology for 28 years and then managed a 3,000 acre nature preserve and national historic site for 16 years. After following grandkids here to NC, he received the Certificate in Native Plant Studies at the North Carolina Botanical Garden. He regularly leads bird outings and certifies homeowners as being bird friendly habitats for New Hope Audubon. He is also a former beekeeper, maintaining 30 hives at one point.
Meet at the Main Parking Lot. This event is open to all. Come join us!
