Master Beekeeper Joe Komperda will share information on “Mites and Mite Control” with the OCBA on June 12.
Joe and his wife, Debbie, along with their bees relocated in 2023 from Colorado to Troutman in Iredell County, about 30 miles north of Charlotte. In North Carolina, they keep bees, teach, and offer hive inspection and management services. Back in Colorado they had hives in the Denver Metro Area including Centennial Airport and The Denver Broncos Football Club Training Center.
Joe is a Certified Master Beekeeper through the University of Montana Master Beekeeping Program. He offers a series of classes, presentations and seminars in the Average Joe’s Guides “Bee-Engaged” series of Beekeeping Information and Instruction.
This meeting will be in-person at the Orange County offices of the NC Cooperative Extension — 1020 US Highway 70 West in Hillsborough.
Just a reminder that our schedule is: potluck appetizers and desserts at 6 pm, Hive Talk at 6:30 pm, and our program at 7 pm with a short business update afterward.
