On September 8th we will have Dr. Elsa Youngsteadt of the Youngsteadt Urban Ecology Lab at NCSU talk with us about her research on the effects of urbanization on bees.
The Urban Ecology Lab works at the interface of urbanization and climate change. Their goal is to understand and manage ecological responses to modern stressors, such as changes in climate, air quality, and habitat structure. Focal study systems include invertebrates and plant-insect interactions. Approaches incorporate field studies, historical datasets, and manipulative experiments in the lab and field.
Dr. Youngsteadt will be presenting to The OCBA in person at the Orange County Extension Office – our first in-person speaker since February 2020! The meeting will also be accessible on Zoom. Please join us!
